There are a variety of different options to explore this vast frontier. While it seams a world away, it’s only a two hour flight from Seattle to Juneau. Looking to enjoy the journey as well as the destination, from June through September many major lines offer Alaskan cruises with excursions that appeal to a wide range of interests.
In Ketchikan, visit Misty Fjords National Monument with its granite cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Venture into the wilderness on a dogsled ride in Juneau, or take it all in via the rails on the Skagway White Pass Scenic Railway.
From Denali National Park you can observe the massive peaks of Mt. Mckinley and witness plentiful wildlife such as moose, caribou, grizzly bears, Dall sheep, and wolves. With near by lodges you can spend your days enjoying the wilderness and nights in luxury.
Wild Alaska seafood including salmon, halibut and king crab attract visitors from all over. Recently more restaurants are featuring locally sourced produce, seafood and game in their menus.
Alaska will please everyone from nature lovers to connoisseurs and it’s an experience not to be missed.
